League News & Notes:

Peninsula Soccer League Comes to an End

After 65 Seasons, the Number One Adult League on the San Francisco Peninsula Shuts Down, as not enough clubs remain to continue the league. Founded in 1957 by Hall of Fame icon and true soccer legend, Umberto Abronzino, the league was legendary for its clubs which ranged from SSF to the north, Half Moon Bay to the west and San Jose & Santa Cruz to the south. At its peak, over 60 teams competed in multiple divisions leading to exciting soccer played each week on numerous community parks and school fields. Without Mr. Abronzino's passion, dedication and leadership, countless hundreds of players would not have had the opportunity to play they game they loved.....
